Letter from our President

Welcome to the Insurance Loss Control Association. I am very honored to be elected as president on the board of this wonderful organization. I am looking forward to furthering the success of the organization.

The Insurance Loss Control Association (ILCA) was formed in 1931 by a small group of fire protection professionals. ILCA is the only professional origination with the sole focus to the Loss Control field in the Insurance Industry. The mission statement of the organization is to provide education and knowledge sharing opportunities that improve the loss control capabilities of our members, and to raise awareness of the benefits of professional loss control practices.

Our members consist of loss control, risk control, safety professionals and insurance underwriters. There are currently 100 active members of the organization. If you are not already a member, I invite you to visit our webpage at www.insurancelosscontrol.org and register. Becoming a member of ILCA will open networking opportunities, opportunities for individuals to expand industry knowledge, and become active advocates for the loss control industry.

This year, the board members are actively working on new initiatives such as hosting webinars throughout the year on a variety of Loss Control Related topics. Stay tuned through our website and LinkedIn page for further updates. We are also continuing to grow our student membership with colleges and universities offering safety related degrees. This program has allowed several student members to make the necessary connections to obtain a needed internship or full-time position after graduation. We currently have 24 student members of the organization.

Our prominent event is our conference, held annually in October. In 2020 we held our conference as a virtual event. However, we resumed holding the conference as an in-person event in 2021. It was a successful event and we had over 50 people in attendance. Planning for our 2022 conference has started. We hope that you consider attending this event and encourage others to do so as well. In addition, we are always looking for speakers, so if you are interested in presenting on a topic, please do not hesitate to reach out to myself or another member of the ILCA Board.

Sincerely,

Stephen White   ARM, AINS
