Welcome to the Insurance Loss Control Association (ILCA) and 2018!

The Insurance Loss Control Association (ILCA) is solely devoted to the profession of Loss Control in the insurance industry.  Through our newsletters, Annual Conference, and networking opportunities we strive to fulfill the ILCA mission "to provide education and knowledge sharing opportunities that improve the loss control capabilities of our members, and to raise awareness of the benefits of professional loss control practices."

The year ahead holds many challenges for the insurance industry and the practice of Loss Control (a/k/a Risk Control, Loss Prevention, Risk Engineering).  Mergers, acquisitions, retirements, the graying workforce, emerging risks, Big Data, cybersecurity, civic disturbances, new technologies, the Internet of Things (IOT), natural/man-made disasters, etc. all will have an impact.  Loss Control can have a major role in helping to prevent and minimize losses, allowing insurance companies to achieve profitable growth and optimizing their underwriting results.  

The last few years have seen the rebuilding of the ILCA member base, with new members as well as new companies who value Loss Control added to our ranks.  ILCA seeks and welcomes participants and new members, especially those just entering our profession.  To further promote our growth, we have become more involved at select colleges and universities with Safety curriculums.  I encourage all current members to reach out to your fellow Loss Control and Underwriting contacts who would also benefit from membership in ILCA.  If you know of any potential members that we could contact, please let us know by email at administration@insurancelosscontrol.org.

Planning for our 2018 Annual Conference is already underway.  Session topics will be based on participant feedback from the 2017 Annual Conference as we strive to maintain the level of excellence achieved at prior conferences.  A "Call for Speakers" will also be distributed soon to solicit even more potential session topics.  Many of our sessions are very valuable to Commercial Lines Underwriters as well.

This past year we completely updated our website (www.insurancelosscontrol.org).  Be sure to check it out now, and regularly, for periodic updates about our conference and other information.  Please contact me or any member of the board with ideas for how we can improve our services!
